Sheepskin #4

This sheepskin has 3-4" dense white locks that have been brushed out to remove seeds, hay chaff etc. There is still a little debris, so it has been discounted. Still very plush and would make a great rug, chair warmer, or for a spoiled pet! The leather is very supple and there are several small sheepskin patches to cover holes, that cannot be seen from the wool side.

This hide is tanned with mimosa tannins, with additional ingredients used in the process including: salt, citric acid, soap, and distilled vinegar. They are softened with sheep tallow soap, sunflower seed lecithin, and olive oil.

Because the tanning and washing process I use does not involve harsh petroleum-derived solvents, and instead mostly handwork, the wool may contain seeds or small pieces of leaves and other vegetable matter, and it may also retain a faint smell of sheep and bark. Enjoy it! To care for this hide, air it out often. You can handwash with warm water and soap and line dry, or fill your washer and allow to soak. More info on my process, cleaning & care.
